Ion to Nicole s Determined to clear her mom from suspicion the pair mbark on what could their last trip together This is a great addition to the Local Foods Mystery series I reuested received and Death in Mumbai enjoyed an ARC of this book I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley inxchange for an honest reviewThe fifth book in the series is a definite page turner I had no trouble following along Baccarat : La lgende du cristal even though I did not know there were others in this series Cam Flaherty is a well developed protagonist and the plot draws you in immediately with a murder Cam s parents are visiting and they are just as much a part of this book as Cam and just as pertinent These characters are so memorable that I m giving this five stars Cozy mystery fans need to grab their copy Mulch Ado about Murder is the fifth book in Edith Maxwell s Local Foods Mystery series Even if you haven t read the previous books in this series Ms Maxwell providesnough character background that you won t feel lost jumping in so late in the series The storyline is well thought out and the characters well developed I O Colégio de Todos os Segredos enjoyed reading this book it s a uick clean read with an interesting mystery relatable characters and some twists and turns that keep you guessing as to the killer s identity There is no adult language graphic violence or sexuallyxplicit situations I recommend this series to anyone who njoys reading clean mysteriesCam Flaherty owns Attic Hill Organic Farm an organic farm in Westbury Massachusetts and her parents have shocked her with a surprise visit Cam is a classic introvert and relishes her alone time and this visit makes that close to impossible While delivering organic seedlings to Nicole Kingsbury who owns Seacoast Fresh a soil free hydroponic greenhouse there s a group of demonstrators outside and Cam is dismayed to see Deb Flaherty her mother among the small group of protesters The problem the group has with the hydroponic process is that chemicals are used and they feel that renders the final product as non organic When Cam nters the greenhouse she doesn t see Nicole or receive a response when she calls out to her so she sends a text message to let her know she left the flats She hears Nicole s cell phone chirp as the text is received and when she walks around to see if she can find her she finds Nicole leaning over a vat of hydroponic slurry and when she checked there was no pulse Deb becomes a person of interest because she was involved in the protest and had spent time alone with Nicole in her greenhouse and since Cam found the body she isn t able to spend time with her boyfriend Homicide Detective Pete Pappas Cam is determined to clear her mother s name and in the process learns there s no shortage of suspects Cam s dad is an Zoete tranen easy going agreeable and thoughtful person while her mother is uiet and somewhat secretive Cam grew up knowing her parents were committed to her but their relationship lacked any signs of affection and she felt there were times when they all tended to keepach other at arm s length but they make some real breakthroughs during this visitI received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it I received Edith Maxwell s Mulch Ado About Murder for free in xchange for an honest review I generally rate books as 3 stars as I have this one and for me a 3 star book is one worth reading This is the 5th book in the Local Foods mystery series and the 1st I have read There was no problem coming into the series late in understanding the story The strength of the book is author s ability to describe settings That said I have am very familiar with small towns in agricultural areas of Massachusetts although less familiar with those north of Boston where this book is set and may have an asy time imagining the setting The book makes me want to go check out Rye NH a minor location in the story I read my 1st Edith Maxwell book the day before this one Delivering the Truth and the author s gift for setting description was Revived evident there tooA second strength is the main character Cam Flaherty single independent organic farmer now working a long held family farm after taking her life in a new direction Cam is a modern cozy heroine with many apparently brief relationships in her past who is likable but not lovable I will read the rest of the books to find out if shenters the realm for lovable The storylines are also modern involving current immigration patterns and drugs as small Student Research Projects in Calculus elements in the story However secondary characters are much too numerous and not well defined If Cam is intended to have a primary sidekick it was unclear which character fit this role Andvery book in a series does not need to mention very character already introduced in. Cap when a fellow farmer is found dead in a vat of hydroponic slurry clutching a set of rosary beads Showers may be scarce this spring but there’s no shortage of suspects including the dead woman’s mbittered x‑husba.

Earlier booksI also would have liked to learn about organic farming or hydroponic farming of which I know nothing but perhaps the Darkmere earlier books supplied information The book moves along uickly with several mention of modes of transportation driving riding biking walking that help this along I read the book in a few hours and my attention did not waver Definitely a book worth a try for cozy readers and anyone who lives in the area where the fictitious Westbury MA is located possibly real life West Newbury Mulch Ado About Murder A Local Foods MysteryAuthor Edith MaxwellPublisher Kensington MysterySpring in Westbury Massachusetts h A feel good cozy who done it set in Westbury Massachusetts It is an unusual spring got and dry Cam s crops are in damage of wilting and she is worried about not havingnough produce for shareholders Her parents are by sitting at this busy time of the year Cam is delivering a couple of flats to a follow farmer She finds Nicole Kingsbury dead in Nicole s greenhouse Nicole is clutching her rosary beads a few of the beads are missing Cam s Mother had visited Nicole Et si la maladie n'tait pas un hasard ? early in the morning and becomes a person of interest Her Father isnjoying the visit and becomes a big help in the farm He Den of Shadows (Gamblers Den especially liked the chickens Can feels her Mother would not kill someone but thinks her Mother is not tellingverything Homicide Detective Pete Pappas Cam s boyfriend has to revise himself from the death investigation Cam and her Father Scraps Of The Untainted Sky explore the problem of her Mother s silence They need to find answers before her Mother loses her life I recommend this bookDisclosure I received a free copy from Kensington Books through NetGalley for an honest review I would like to thank them for this opportunity to read and review the book The opinionsxpressed are my own Cam Flaherty is helping new hydroponics farmer Nicole by starting a few plants for her She s dropping off a few of those plants when she finds Nicole dead in her greenhouse The police uestion those protesting Nicole s hydroponic methods including Cam s visiting mother Deb Deb is clearly hiding something from the police Will it get her arrested for murderI hadn t realized how much I had come to love these characters until I was visiting them again They are wonderful and I The Eric Carle Gift Set enjoyed getting to catch up on their lives We ve gotten to see a lot of growth in Cam over the course of the series and watching her interact with her parents provides an opportunity for And the mystery It starts uickly and moves along at a brisk pace with plenty of secrets and suspects before we reach the climaxNOTE I received an ARC of this bookRead my full review at Carstairs Considers Dollycas s ThoughtsSpring is such a busy time for a farmer The last thing Cam needs is a surprise visit from her parents OK that s not the last thing she needs the last thing she needs is to get wrapped up in another murder But that is just what she does When she arrives at the new hydroponic greenhouse to drop off some seedlings she finds the owner Nicole Kingsbury dead in a vat of slurry Because of the group protesting outside the greenhouse she has plenty of witnesses to provide an alibi for the time she arrives Unfortunately that doesn t work for her mom who happens to be one of the protesters There are plenty of other suspects too but her mom is hiding something To keep her mom out of jail she is going to be assisting the local police including her boyfriend Detective Pete PappasWhat I really like about these stories is that Cam does the her sleuthing but she uickly tells the police anything she findsven if they don t always appreciate her help This time her dad Huguenot Prophecy and Clandestine Worship in the Eighteenth Century even lends a handEdith Maxwell has created such a vibrant cast of characters Cam has really grown into her role as a farmer I love that she has a group of volunteers that help with the chores and receive produce for their labors They span all ages from teenagers to senior citizensOf course I have heard of organic farming but hydroponic farming is brand new to me The authorducates the reader in the course of the story I found the process very interestingThe story is well written with important seeds sprinkled throughout getting us closer and closer to finding the killer The family dynamic that grows between Cam and her parents was just as ngaging as the murder mystery The author gives us suspense and drama peppered with humor and also gives us several heartwarming moments too Cam and Pete s relationship has to take a little break because of the investigation but its strength shines in the way they handle the separationThis is a strong addition for this series A perfect summer read And there are recipes in the back of the book too Yes it can be read as a stand alone PICK yours up toda.
