I thought this was a story about time travel however was intrigued to realize it was about reincarnation a different twistdefinitely a great read I couldn t put this book down it was fast paced and fascinating A 40 year old African American man celebrates his birthday and wakes up the next day as a white professor some 100 years on I won t say any in case I spoil the story but it s definitely worth a read This is a terrific book I got it on a Friday and was lost in it for the Poisoned Secrets (Murder and Mayhem entire weekend The plot grabs you from the first chapter David Earle really makes you a part of the story and you ll find yourself feeling all themotions of his characters As I began reading I thought This is too good too Safe Words early no way can it wrap things up wellnough to satisfy me I was wrong The writing is His To Claim (McBain Brothers Alpha, exuisite and the author slam dunks thending You ll want to read this book than once I thoroughly The Black Sheeps Baby (Into The Heartland) (Into The Heartland) (Silhouette Intimate Moments, enjoyed this book I bought it on impulse I don t usually read books proffering to stick to newspapers and magazines but I was fascinated by the premise Once I started I found myselfager to learn about the protagonist and his circumstances and desperate to find out how the book would nd Although the book is technically science fiction the storytelling feels of another genre think mystery thriller Do buy a copy it s an xciting and compelling story and hugely satisfying read I received this book for free as part of Goodreads First Reads giveawaysThis review may contain spoilersThis was a fairly uniue book in that it combined time travel with reincarnation two plots that I haven t seen put together beforeThe differences between Roger and Sydney were fairly interesting noticeable as the time passed Roger s confusion over things in the future was Dangerous to Touch endearing andasy to Once Upon a Seduction (Its All About Attitude empathise withI liked the characters and I liked Roger s relationships with the people in the future They grew on me and I really liked themven Cyrus who I didn t Rodeo Daughter especially like at firstI did notice uite a fewrrors in the book not misspellings as such but the wrong word used Site instead of sight was one of those There were also a few occasions where something was stated that wasn t known by the POV character which was kind of confusingI didn t think there was much mystery in the book I have to say Everything was revealed in a block of speech towards the My Guilty Pleasure (Harlequin Blaze end The book did succeed in keeping me reading though and I cared about what happened to the charactersI d probably be interested in reading another book by the same author depending on the genre It was definitely an interesting read with well written characters that wereasy to identify with I won a copy of this book from GoodreadsThe author who seems like a nice guy has said in response to a review on com that Fatal Secrets (Protecting the Witnesses editing problems were fixed in the most current version of this book Unfortunately I got an old copy 2012 Some of my compl. Roger Owen an African American family man in the year 2011 awakens the morning after his fortieth birthday to discover himself inhabiting the body of Sydney Hamilton a Caucasian sixty six year old Welsh Harvard Professor of History whom he remembers nothing of in what is now the year 2125 Roger'sntire life up to that fateful vening in October 2011 is soon revealed as being only a memo.

Figure out what the hell is going on while veryone thinks he s nutsThe downside is the thriller portion didn t get totally answered The story was left at a place where you have to kind of answer your own uestions And it s almost as if My Spy (Mission: Impassioned, everything he went through was for naught which drives me crazy But there are some interchanging plot lines that run through this and I think those plot lines are what really kept me wanting to know but thending just left me a little weird I loved it but I also hated it I want to know I want Roger to know The writing was definitely intriguing and although the plot left a little to be desired I found myself wanting to read because it was so interesting The plot the characters were Until You Loved Me (Silver Springs, engaging but the writing itself was phenomenalInto sci fi or thrillers You llnjoy the twists this one has I started reading this book weeks ago but set it aside Not for all the usual reasons ie boring poor The Baby Album editing I was very stressed and could not concentrate Picked it back up yesterday and could not put it down Roger celebrates his fortieth birthday with just a little of that boy are you old kidding A devoted family man successful in his career he is happy Until he awakens the next morning He is in a strange place surrounded by people he does not know After a few moments of confusion Roger notices his hand pale against the sheets At this point Roger really freaks out When he finally receives a mirror he looks into the face of an older man a well known professor and historian who had recently fallen from a third story window and been comatose for the previous five days Did I mention Roger is a black man And Sydney the professor happens to be white And it is now 2125 not 2011Jessica his psychiatrist promises to help him After researching all diagnosis that couldxplain RogerSydney s condition she reaches a conclusion that does fit perfectly Roger had died the same day Sydney was born Jessica believes Roger was reincarnated as Sydney As the story progresses this reverse reincarnation becomes uite clear Roger is bereft how can he return to his life Who is the man following him and why is he doing so If Sydney s memories return what will happen to Roger sThis book looks at life in an unusual and uniue way Once you Secret Agent Minister and Deadly Texas Rose enter this story you are pulled uickly along While reincarnation may not fit into your belief system in the context of this book it is than believable The incidents in the future ring too true unfortunately I received this book on Goodreads Besides a great read I have found an wonderful author to follow Thank you WOW What a uniue andngrossing story uite a twist and filled with lots of symbolism and thought provoking ideas Well written and addicting finished it in one night since I could not Why Not Tonight (Happily Inc., ever decide to put it down Would make a great movie Thank you so much for this opportunity to win andnjoy this book Holds as Professor Hamilton regarding the truth of a catastrophic world Her First Mother (Conveniently Wed, event that occurred in 2115 that now threatens his life by a man who seeks to kill himLife Is But A Dream is a science fictionpic with an unfamiliar reverse twist on reincarnation that intertwines romance suspense and mystery that ntertains and captivates from the beginning to its dramatic spellbinding conclusion.

Aints might no longer apply to the new versionThe good The premise of reincarnation was interesting and uniue The author seems xtremely knowledgeable about viruses and history The plot is convoluted and complex and the pacing is leisurely In the last uarter of the book I did care about what happened to the characters The cover is goodThe not so good for me It took a long time for me to like the main character Due to the distant formal passively worded narrative I never really cared about Jessica or some of the other characters My copy was so riddled with mistakes that if I weren t compelled to review it for Goodreads I wouldn t have finished reading it I m not Snowbound Bride (Harlequin Men in Uniform Miniseries) extremely picky Many of these goofs could have been fixed with a simple run through Microsoft Word s grammar checker or simply having an honest test reader There was missing punctuation incorrect words site for sight you re for your switched tenses from past to present and back an info dump where a man told a story inside a flashback and spoke for 7 unbroken pages and a scene in the wrong spot one paragraph Roger and the shrink he s known a week are getting hotdogs in the park the next he s kissing her at her doorstep the next pragraph they re back in the parkating the hotdogs My overall opinion is tread lightly If you re lucky Cowboys Baby (Ranching Family, enough to get andited copy then it ll be a good read Or if you don t care about the technical side of writing at all and just want story go for it For me if I had paid for the copy I got in this poorly Between the Land and the Sea (Marinas Tales, edited form I d have been angry The story in Life is But a Dream is phenomenal The idea of reincarnation is fascinating and to incorporate it into a thriller wasxciting The story was spiritual but with mystery and intrigue It was very reminiscent of 12 Monkeys actually My main issue with the book is this The story is written in narration meaning that you are able to witness the thoughts feelings and actions of all the characters but you don t feel connected to them As I read this book I literally felt like I was watching an old movie from the 1960s you know with the deep male voice narrating the Gilligan Unbound entire thing Like I said the story was great but thexecution was not great What a weird and very interesting story At first I wasn t totally into it and sadly I just didn t like Roger He has a great life with a great wife and kids loves Gone for Soldiers everything about his life and is turning 40 I wanted him to get run over by a car I mean seriously great I m glad you re happy but I don t want to read about all that damn happinessAnd then the twist He wakes in the hospital and is trying to figure out what happened when WHAM He looks at himself and realizes he s now a white guy And not a 40 year oldither but a 60 year old white guy what the hell Needless to say I was much interested in the story at this point It s kind of like a psychological thriller He s trying to. Ry of a past life His odyssey of this strange new Hotshot P.I. existence in the twenty second century takes him from an insane asylum to the care of an attractive beguilingmpathetic psychologist named Dr Jessica Wynn to the acceptance of both lost lives and the pursuit of finding his ancestors from his past life Through it all he must also deal with unraveling the mystery of a secret he unknowingly.
